VOA to move from Asiasat 2 to Asiasat 3
In response to Viewer and Listener demands, we will move our Asiasat 2 transmission to Asiasat 3 effective December 1, 2007 at 0001 UTC. We will maintain all of our existing programming with the same program identifiers on Asiasat 3.
Please note that there will be a one-month overlap for the month of December, but all must be migrated to AsiaSat 3 by January 1, 2008.
In order to access to VOA on AS3, stations need to move the dishes from AS2 position of 100.5 Degrees East to AS-3 at 105 Degrees East. The new AS3 Downlink Frequency would be 4,040 MHz (Transponder 11H) while the current one on AS2 was 3,880 MHz (Transponder 7B).
No physical changes to receivers. The package/MCPC/Channels etc in our transmission will Not change. All the VCs, PIDs etc will all remain the same. Symbol Rate, FEC and all that will remain the same. Even the downlink polarization will remain Horizontal the same. All you have to do is to re-point existing AS2 antennas and change the downlink frequency from 3,880 MHz to 4,040 MHz.
